  • Consultant Psychiatrist (Telepsychiatry from the USA) Secretary, SIMHI Trust Dr. Barman completed medical school studies at Medical College, Kolkata, and earned an MD in psychiatry from Government Medical College, Patiala. Thereafter, he did his psychiatry residency training at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, Virginia, US, and then completed geriatric psychiatry fellowship at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts. He was an assistant professor at West Virginia University of Medicine Eastern Division, Genesis Medical Center in Iowa, and the Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa in Iowa City. He is a double-board-certified psychiatrist, currently working as an attending psychiatrist at Humboldt County Behavioral Health in California and Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, Martinez, CA. Dr. Barman has been involved in multiple research in post traumatic stress disorder, dementia, delirium, inappropriate antibiotic use and impact of suicide. He actively participates in the APA's (American Psychiatric Association) climate change and mental health caucus and is a prestigious member of the APA's Committee on Psychiatric Dimensions of Disaster.

Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and she specializes in structured interventions tailored to individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and cognitive decline associated with aging. With a blend of empathy, structure, and evidence-based techniques, she is dedicated to improving psychological well-being of all age group through a collaborative and client-focused lens.
